Here’s how to squeeze the maximum out of your Recruitment Consultant (and we should know!):

  1. Tell us what you want. We know you are going to give us an outline, but don’t be scared to go into all the details. The more we know, the better we will be able to help you
  2. Be frank when communicating us. This is critical. We really do need to be kept informed of any changes in your situation or your plans
  3. Network with your recruiter. Your dream job might not come up today, but things change at such a speed, you never know what will happen tomorrow. People get promoted, markets change, unadvertised jobs, there are possibilities everywhere
  4. Don’t exaggerate what you have to offer. When we are searching for suitable vacancies, we need to know that you are going to make a great match. Dressing up your skills won’t do either of us any favours later on
  5. Don’t change your behaviour for our interview and the interview with employers. Your interview with us is giving us plenty of insight into how you will interact with companies. Our role is to ensure that our clients are matched with perfect candidates and vice versa. Recruiters have the responsibility of recommending excellent candidates who represent themselves well
  6. You may have your heart set on a job, but we may not be able to make it work. We have made a commitment to our clients and our candidates to only present the right candidate for the right job. If you think you have the right skills for a job, but we know you don’t, we won’t put you forward for the job. Sorry, but it’s not fair for our clients or for you
  7. Keeping in touch with your recruiter is great and shows enthusiasm. That being said, try not to be too persistent. We are highly organized and never forget a candidate. We will be in touch with you
  8. Have faith in us to get the best results for you. This is what we do best, we know the market, we have the contacts. Trust us when we say that we know what we are doing, and we only want the best for you
